The ‘Loch Ard’ Story Audio CD (1st edition recording, 2008)

$9.95

This CD tells, in vivid detail, the story of the wreck of the famous Loch Ard – how the wreck occurred, the ordeal and rescue of the two survivors, and the aftermath of the wreck.

Also included are Robert Townshend’s reminiscences about his grandmother Eva Carmichael who was the only passenger to survive the shipwreck; and a new recording of music written in 1878 in honour of Tom Pearce, the only crew member of the Loch Ard to survive the disaster.

The CD is an excellent companion piece to Burgewood Books’ Settlers Under Sail and Wrecks and Reputations.

Audio CD. 30-minute program.
